Joe Cruz Jr. was born and raised in Harlem, New York. He made a career out of building spirits brands for others. Until, he took a leap of faith to create something of his own – something new, lasting and inspiring to others.

So he set his sights on bringing a new vision to his favorite spirit - tequila. Working with the most awarded distillery in Mexico, Joe and his team combined traditional methods with new ideas and inspirations. The result is a spirit that challenges tradition, yet respects the craft, and ultimately a legacy that is inspired by his family, yet one meant to be shared and raised with everyone around the world.

In addition to his passion for his family and YaVe, Joe is strong proponent for his community and helping young entrepreneurs and social entrepreneurs get started on their climbs to the top.

The vision for YaVe was to create an impossibly smooth and balanced tequila – flavorful like the finest premium tequilas, but more sippable than any other. Our unique approach balances the distinct flavors of agave from two locations in Jalisco, Mexico: Highland agave brings sweet and floral notes, while the Lowland complements it with subtle peppery depth.

YaVe Tequila is distilled with only the finest and distinctive water. Naturally filtered through thousands of feet of porous lava rock, this volcanic water is incomparably pure and part of the signature YaVe experience.

PROPRIETARY YEAST

An often-overlooked element of tequila is the yeast used in the distillation process. This is what starts to turn the sugars in the agave into alcohol. At YaVe, our unique smoothness, in part, comes from our unique strand of yeast.
